My name is Amy Salazar and I am the social worker at Troy Heritage Trail. I love working with children and feel the best way to make the biggest difference in the lives of children is through the school.
I earned my Bachelors Degree from Judson University in Elgin, Illinois in 2008, and my Masters of Social Work from Aurora University in 2012. Throughout my educational program I have gained experience in several areas of social services including crisis pregnancy counseling, adoption casework, domestic violence counseling for children and victims, and school social work. I completed an internship in the Plainfield School District 202 during the 2011-2012 school year working with general education students, as well as students in special education and in self contained classrooms. I obtained a job at Troy as a full time social worker working at Troy Heritage Trail and Troy Craughwell in the 2012-2013 school year. This is my 11th year working at Troy, and I have loved every minute of it. I feel blessed to be able to work with the amazing students and staff at Troy Heritage Trail and look forward to serving this school and community as a social worker. |
